About
Hannah Huff has been affiliated with Appalachian State University since 2015 as a student, Graduate Assistant, and now professional Academic Advisor. She graduated in 2019 with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology-Human Services and again in 2022 with her Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration, both from App State.
She has a background in Academic Advising from her Graduate Assistantship in the Advising and Orientation Center where she advised an assigned caseload of diverse student populations pursuing a wide variety of majors offered at Appalachian State. Hannah has also participated in multiple internships and practicums in various departments and offices on campus, resulting in experiences related to academic success and academic coaching, gaining the skills necessary to support at-risk student populations, and the ability to effectively communicate university and academic policies to students.
Hannah’s desire to work with students through advising stems from the rewarding impact she feels from introducing students to university resources and support, fostering an inclusive environment, empowering students to take an active role in their learning and development, and inspiring students to discover new ideas, experiences, and life possibilities. She strives to find a balance in both challenging and supporting students throughout their academic journey. In this role, Hannah is excited to expand her advising skill set, learn about the Veterinary profession, and support students as they navigate a fully online program.
