About
Dr. Brooks graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine with a dual degree in veterinary medicine and public health in 2012. She worked as a small animal practitioner in Indiana and volunteered much of her time serving people experiencing homelessness or other life crises who also had pets. In 2021, she was accepted into the American Association for the Advancement of Science's Science and Technology Policy Fellowship, through which she worked at the U.S. Agency for International Development for two years. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. and works full time with the Afterschool Alliance.
