About
Amanda Dillard worked for 3 years at a small animal practice in Greensboro, NC while attending Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC. She also obtained her state and federal wildlife rehabilitation license during that time. Birds of prey were her favorite animal to rehabilitate. After graduating from CCCC in 2001, she worked in specialty medicine at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro, NC for 9 years. She spent 6 years in surgery and 3 years in ICU/Emergency. She switched to laboratory animal medicine at Wake Forest School of Medicine in 2010. Her current position there is IACUC Laboratory Animal Training Coordinator. Anesthesia is her absolute favorite part of veterinary medicine and ventilators are her favorite tool. Her favorite species at work include rats, pigs and non-human primates. She lives in Randleman, NC with her husband and teenage daughter along with their 2 Irish Setters, Delilah and Keavy.
